Fitbit App Store Will Reportedly Launch Ahead Of The Upcoming Smartwatch

Instead of launching with custom-made apps like it was rumoured, the long rumoured Fitbit app store will reportedly launch ahead of the upcoming smartwatch. Fitbit CEO James Park has told The Verge that its app store will be
ready in time.
The smartwatch will have its own app platform and app gallery ready when it launches. He said that when Fitbit's smartwatch launches, the company will also launch a software development kit (SDK) along with a select number of apps from specific partners. Shortly after, the SDK will be available to all developers.
The company will be rolling out SDK based on technology it acquired from Pebble, which was working on a new Javascript-based SDK and apps will also be compatible with both iOS and Android.
