NASA Is Continuing Development Of A Quiet Supersonic Jet

NASA is continuing development of a quiet supersonic jet that'll make the same amount of noise as a car driving on a highway. The space agency has begun
accepting bids for a 94-foot demo version of the aircraft. It tunnel-tested the aircraft last month and is taking steps to push the project forward.
Because of the low sub-65 dBa noise production, the supersonic jet could potentially be flown internationally as well as domestically, unlike the Concorde.
When NASA receives the larger prototype jet, it'll be able to bring the aircraft up to 55,000 feet. Due to its faster traveling speed, the jet could go from New York to Los Angeles is 3 hours, half the typical time.
NASA wants to fly a finished version of the jet by 2020.
