The Modern And Classic Versions Of RuneScape Are Both Headed To Mobile Platforms, Jagex Has Revealed

The modern and classic versions of RuneScape are both headed to mobile platforms, Jagex has revealed. Initially, Old School RuneScape will become available on phones and tablets in the winter. From there, the modern form of the
game will launch at an unknown time.
RuneScape started as a browser-based game in 2001. It ended up becoming one of the world's most popular MMOs. The modern version has changed significantly, so fans of the original may like the Old School version.
Crossplay will be available with both versions of the game, enabling people to play across PC and mobile.
This is a real step change for MMORPGs and a signal of Jagex's intent to continue to push the boundaries of live games. The RuneScape titles will become the first mainstream and established Western MMORPGs on mobile in full, and the first to deliver interoperable play between PC and mobile platforms. We believe in taking our games to wherever our players want them; recent player surveys showed an overwhelming 90 percent of active players and 64 percent of former players telling us of their very high intent-to- play on mobile.- Phil Mansell, COO, Jagex
